The State Government commenced massive construction and renovation of the dilapidated general hospital across the thirteen local government in the state.
Governor Umahi during his state executive council meeting inaugurated a committee on General hospital renovation headed by Chief Mrs Ann Aligwe and Hon Barr Eni Uduma Chima PhD as Secretary. The committee swung into action with their numerous strategic meetings and tour visit to the 13 local government general hospital in the state.
The committee was determined and focus to deliver His Excellency, Chief Engr David Nweze Umahi agenda on improve health sector by ensuring that all the general hospital were properly equipped to serve the people because they say Health is wealth.
Governor Umahi while in isolation made sure that the committee were properly funded to reconstruct, renovate and equip the hospitals across the local government to meet up the international standards.
Mrs Aligwe headed committee on general hospital renovation within two weeks procured hospital equipment for Elinwovu Ikwo and Onicha General hospital which is now fully ready to commence operation as it will be commissioned soon. The committee within one month has renovated and equip three general hospitals in the state to world class standard.
Mrs Aligwe appreciates the state government led by Governor Umahi for this giant stride and promised the committee will not relent in their efforts to ensure the vision of the state government on improve health sector is achieved.
