Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, born on March 12, 1965, is a Nigerian lawyer and politician currently serving as the governor of Plateau State since 2023. Prior to his governorship, he held the position of Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau State. Mutfwang assumed office as governor on May 29, 2023.
Born in Wussasa, Zaria, Mutfwang attended LEA Primary School Ampang-West, Mangu LGA, from 1973 to 1977, and later graduated from Boys Secondary School, Gindiri, in 1982.
After a brief stint at the Federal Office of Statistics and the defunct Nigerian Bank for Commerce and Industry (NBCI), Mutfwang pursued further education at the School of Preliminary Studies, Keffi, from 1983 to 1984. He then attended the University of Jos from 1984 to 1988, followed by the Nigerian Law School in 1988, where he qualified to be called to the Nigerian Bar as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court on December 14, 1989.
During his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Kaduna State, Mutfwang was elected as the President of the Nigerian Christian Corpers’ Fellowship.
